NEW Samsung LCD Not Loading Apps Like Netflix or YouTube? We Got Your Fix!

Marisa and I just purchased a new Samsung UN60H7150AFX 60" Smart TV. Out of the box it appeared to work pretty good. Then all of a sudden it crapped out.

What went wrong?

We couldn't watch YouTube videos; either they would not load or would play for 30 seconds and then the system would lock up.

We could not download HUB apps correctly, and if they would download, they would die on startup.

After banging our heads against the wall we found a couple possible solutions and wanted to share them here. If you know someone with a new Samsung TV, share this. It could quite possibly improve their experience, and at best, make the TV usable.

Now that this is up and running the way we/anyone would expect, we love it!

FIX:
  • Menu (Settings)->System->Smart Security = [Turn OFF]
  • Menu (Settings)->General->Samsung Instant On = [Turn OFF]
  • Menu (Settings)->Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) = [Turn OFF]
  • Restart and things should start working correctly.
If it still does NOT work, there are 2 more options.

#1:
Menu (Settings)->Setup
Get to Step 3 or where it says "Smart Hub Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy"
Enter the following code on the Smart Remote
Mute(located on left side of remote) -> Return -> Vol+ -> CHn + -> Mute
This should bring up the country code selection screen. Choose country (most of my friends are "United States of America" and then complete the rest of the setup process, even if you have done it previously.

#2:
Menu (Settings)->Network->Network Status->IP Settings->DNS Settings [change to "Enter manually"]
Menu (Settings)->Network->Network Status->IP Settings->DNS Server [change to 8.8.8.8] (this is a Google DNS entry)

If all of this doesn't work, you can either contact Samsung support, or you can take it back and get a Sony as that would have been our 2nd choice; and a better choice if you plan to use primarily to play a lot of high end games on it; we don't.
